I first met Alexandre and Mela during one of the most profound retreats of my life: a four-day dark retreat last year. Alexandre was the first person to greet me when I arrived. From the very first moment, his presence felt calming, gentle, and almost angelic. I had arrived very determined to do the dark retreat completely on my own, without assistance. At that time in my life, asking for help or allowing support was not easy for me. But after sitting with Alexandre and talking through what to expect, it became incredibly clear that having his guidance during the retreat was not only supportive, but essential. There was something about his energy that made that decision feel safe and clear. Alexandre has an extraordinary ability to move seamlessly between worlds. He can speak just as clearly about what is happening in the 3D as he can about what may be unfolding across dimensions, time, and space, without ever feeling disconnected or abstract. Above all, he is one of the most profound listeners and space holders I have ever encountered. Truly rare. What I didn’t realize at the time was that the dark retreat would prepare me for one of the most difficult years of my life. Something unlocked in me during those four days in the dark, something I wouldn’t fully understand until much later. I was brought face-to-face with some of the darkest parts of myself, places I had avoided and stories I didn’t want to revisit. And yet, the retreat also reminded me of my immense strength. It showed me my ability to go inward, to connect with my guides, and to care for myself in ways I didn’t believe I could. Throughout the retreat, Alexandre was a steady mirror of that truth. Anytime I said, “I need help,” he would gently remind me, “You can do this. You’ve got this,” and then sit with me and guide me through it. Always reminding me of my own power. During the retreat, I also had the gift of meeting Mela, Alexandre’s wife. She is truly a light on this earth. Her presence is loving, radiant, and deeply grounding. Mela is deeply intuitive and played a critical role in my integration, offering care, warmth, and love in a way that I still think about often. She made me feel seen, held, and safe during a very tender time. A few months after the retreat, my life began to shift dramatically. I found myself navigating challenging times, and I reached out to Alexandre to do inner child work. We worked together for many weeks, and that experience was just as profound as the retreat itself. He remembered everything from my time in the dark and wove it seamlessly into our sessions. With incredible gentleness and precision, he helped me face moments and experiences I had buried, convinced myself I had already healed, or simply didn’t want to touch. Healing my inner child changed my life. I learned, the hard way, that being there for our inner child is the key to changing everything. I am endlessly grateful for that work and for the care with which Alexandre guided me through it. I am deeply grateful that I listened to myself and said yes to both the dark retreat and the inner child work. I plan to return to the darkness again with Alexandre and Mela this year.
